There is nothing better than Los Angeles in the summertime – especially on the Westside. Having grown up near the beach and being a frequent beach-goer, I wanted to create a retro-styled anniversary shoot that would bring in that classic California beach feel accented by bright colors (and a gorgeous couple!). I paired with Valorie Darling Photography and we took our shoot to the beaches of Santa Monica and Venice Beach, as well as the iconic Santa Monica Pier.
We began our adventure shooting at the Santa Monica Pier, riding the roller coaster and playing arcade games. Then, we went over to Venice Beach in a vintage Thunderbird where we set up a romantic beach picnic. To style the picnic, I incorporated antique china accented with some bright floral arrangements, keeping the overall vibe both fun and retro. We spent the wonderfully sunny afternoon reading throwback fashion magazines and writing love letters on vintage postcards.
What I love most about this shoot is not only did it create such gorgeous, loving shots of the couple, but it also includes all of the elements needed for a fun and romantic LA afternoon.
