Putting together your Easter table can be a lot of fun—it’s all about pairing fresh florals with seasonally inspired place settings. And of course, fabulous food! We’ve put together some helpful tips in designing your Easter tablescape, and we were sure to touch on some fun desserts to make your day extra sweet.

Real Wedding: Allison & Brent

This wedding was all about highlighting vintage romance. With the wonderful setting and backdrop of the lovely 1909 in Malibu, California came stunning trees and simplistic details that provided for the perfect ceremony backdrop. The bride wore a Lazaro gown and was adorned with classic hair and makeup- the ultimate vision of elegance. The cake was nothing short of a hit, as it was sophisticated and chic with accents of sugar peonies that complimented the hints and pops of pinks in the floral arrangements. The evening came to an unforgettable close with an extravagant and special grand exit to a vintage Rolls Royce, where the couple rode off as husband and wife while the guests enjoyed the view from a stunning red carpet.

Beachy Wedding

A bride and groom can never go wrong when getting married on the beach. What’s not to love about the fresh ocean, soft sand, cool breeze and gorgeous nature- while surrounded by those you love most. Some touches we love in a beach-inspired wedding are beautiful alters, going barefoot (an all-around favorite), and simple seating for the guests. These pictures are nothing short of how gorgeous a beach wedding can be!

Earthy Wedding

Words that come to mind when we think of earthy weddings: rustic, natural, fresh, and raw. Some elements included in this design can be “unfinished” or “worn” materials, and pieces that are inspired by natural tones and textures. We see wood pieces, deep and dark colors and flowers, lots of greenery, and richness all around. Tip: it’s important to keep your elements crisp and neat, as you do not want your earth-inspired design to look messy and disheveled.

Styled Shoot: Upcycled Bohemian Wedding

This bohemian wedding inspiration shoot is one of my favorite sessions to date. We choose an “upcycled bohemian” theme in order to show that a wedding could be both beautifully eclectic and eco-friendly. To accomplish this, we highlighted re-purposed goods and assembled sustainable vendors with the same vision. Our inspiration for the design came from textures such as worn wood and glass, and our color scheme was inspired by the fresh spring flowers that Tara at Silver Lake Farm selected and grew for us.

The day was sprinkled with all sorts of beautiful upcycled elements. The women’s wedding rings we used were handcrafted and the man’s ring was created from an antique spoon. The desserts were created entirely from local ingredients from the farmer’s market and were vegan and gluten free. Additionally, all of the flowers were grown locally and organically at Silver Lake Farm. Much of the furniture was reclaimed and the invitations were printed on real wood. All of the plates and flatware were meticulously collected by Laura at Dish Wish to create a beautiful vision of antique porcelain. Topping it off was a fantastic turquoise truck, a complete happy accident and welcome addition to the last moments of our shoot as the sun disappeared behind the LA mountains.

Choosing to have an environmentally conscious wedding day will add a special and personal element to the day, while allowing yourselves and your guests to feel closer to Mother Nature.

Carissa + Stu’s Engagement Session

When it’s time for a wedding industry professional to get married, expect beautiful images, fun details, and a few surprises. In this case, wedding photographer Carissa Woo of Carissa Woo Photography – a friend and industry colleague – entrusted me to design her engagement session, and what an honor it was! We wanted something fun, playful and unique so we chose the ACE Hotel in Palm Springs; it was the perfect backdrop. We incorporated mid-century modern pieces and bright colors to complement our Palm Springs surroundings.
