Lighting is one of the most important components at a wedding. From candles to chandeliers, up-lights to Gobo designs, good lighting will create an unparalleled ambiance and evoke a mood.
It is important to plan your lighting based on the start time of day your ceremony and reception. If you plan of having your ceremony during the evening, make sure you plan your walkthrough at a time that will reflect the same amount of natural light you will have on the wedding day. This way, you can plan out what lighting elements you will need based on the amount of existing light. It is necessary that every portion of the venue is lit, especially at night, but go for soft touches, not harsh ones.
Ensure the lighting draws your guest’s eye somewhere; towards the dance floor, to the wedding party table, or the center of the room, ensure that no light escapes your focal points and they stay lit all night long. Additionally, guests should enjoy talking with each other and mingling during the reception, so remember to brighten up the areas where the guests will be!
XO, Nicole
