Fun & Romantic Wedding Proposals from the Holiday Season!

Heart Beach Words

Nicole Alexandra Designs would like to congratulate all the new brides from this wonderful holiday season! How did it happen? Were there doves or sky drawings? Was there a flash mob singing and dancing?  Were there candles on a deserted private beach? Was it on a romantic gondola ride in Venice, or by the Christmas tree with your whole family?  No matter how the proposal happened, it will remain one of the most memorable moments of your life!

Now, we all know there are countless ways of creating goosebump-worthy proposal stories, but we thought we’d start off 2014 sharing some of our favorites.  And who knows, maybe these creative individuals will inspire some of those lucky couples who are still working on creating that special moment!

The Romantic Fireman

Will told Caitlin there was birthday party for one of the guys at the fire station where he works.  She arrived around 1:00pm and Will said, “If I get an emergency call, you should ride along in the truck.” Caitlin said, “Okay!”  Two minutes later, the alarms went off! Everybody was running around and Will took Caitlin between two of the trucks near the fire pole. He said, “Actually, you should probably stay here.” Caitlin agreed and waited while Will ran around to the other side of the truck to get inside.  The firetruck backed away, and Will was still there waiting on the other side down on one knee! They even played wedding music while he proposed!  Caitlin said YES!

The Space Cowboy

Andrew proposed to Katie on their 11th anniversary.  One night during a trip to Big Bear, they layed out and watched a meteor shower. After it was over and Katie got up to leave, Andrew got on one knee and popped the question! Katie said …YES! What a magical night!

The Hipster

Calvin and Beyza met 5 years ago and it all just clicked in place.  Calvin took Beyza back on the same hike as their first date. He had said it was for a photo shoot so he had a camera and video all set up to capture the moment. He started playing music on his mini speakers, got down on one knee and proposed! Beyza said…..YES!

The Hole in One

Christine and JT are both big fans of golf, so they went to play a round one Saturday morning. On the 18th hole, JT had Christine pull the flag and inside the hole was a ball that said “Will you marry me?” She said, “YES!”

The Traveler

Kenny proposed to Kim in Santiago, Chile while on a trip that included Patagonia and wine tasting.  Kenny had a private tour organized that started at the big churches and ended in a small private church where he popped the question. Kim said…. YES!!

The Surfer

Geoff proposed to Nadia on Christmas day!  Geoff asked her to come with him to check the surf before breakfast on the cliffs. When they got there, Geoff had laid out rose petals over looking the ocean. He then got down on one knee and popped the question. Nadia said…. YES!!

The Casanova

This year, Ralph and Jordan both studied together in London. During the trip, Ralph arranged a getaway to Venice, Italy where he proposed to Jordan on a Gondola. She said….YES!

The Best Future-Son-In-Law

Emory proposed to Alison while visiting with her family for the holidays. He had been waiting to ask Alison’s father for permission before proposing. Her father however, is a doctor and was working different shifts and Emory could not get him alone. Eventually, on the last day of their trip, Emory waited up all night for Alison’s father to come home from work. Once her father walked through the door, Emory asked him. Although a bit taken back he said YES! Emory then woke Alison up right away and asked her. She said…YES!!!

The Classic

Jackson proposed to Christine on Christmas Day!  Jackson and Christine were hosting all of Christine’s family.  Jackson had placed a card under the tree with a special message that directed Christine to her stocking.  The stocking was full of small gifts like chocolates, but there was also a piece of string.  At the end of the string was the ring!  When she opened the card, it read, “Will you marry me..?”  When Christine finally stopped crying, she said.. YES!!

The Photographer

Ben proposed to Hannah on New Years Eve. He had set up a photo shoot with one of their friends who was also a photographer. He had said they were helping her build her portfolio. Towards the end of the photo-shoot, the photographer asked, do you have any more poses and Ben said “I have one more.” He then got down on one knee and proposed with the ring in a hollowed out book. Hannah said YES!

The Shocker

Eric wanted to propose during dinner at a waterfront restaurant, but Cassie wanted try out the new sushi place in town. It turned out to be a total dive spot, and Eric had the ring on him all night because he didn’t want to do it there.  When they got home, he had to go through the house to open garage for Cassie (she was driving).  As the garage door opened, he was down on one knee. She cried, honked the horn and… said YES!

Everyone loves a great story. But the best stories, told over and over again are romantic proposals! Congratulations again, and thanks so much to all our friends for sharing!  Lots of love to all the new brides and grooms in 2014! XOXO
